Lenexa, KS - W+D North America Inc. the worldwide leader in envelope printing, converting, direct mail and ballot inserting technology announces that it will introduce for the first time the new W+D i-Jet 3 inkjet overprint press at the upcoming Printing United Expo in Atlanta.

The W+D i-Jet 3 is the 3rd generation of W+D’s successful inkjet overprint press models. W+D along with its acquisition of HALM has more envelope overprint machines in production worldwide than anyone. The new W+D i-JET 3 features the new Memjet Durabolt production class print engine capable of printing 36,000+ #10 envelopes/hr. at its highest resolution of 1600 x 1280 dpi which puts it in a class of its own in terms of quality and speed. A new wider 12.77” print head with new bleed features now runs virtually all jobs faster in landscape mode. The W+D i-Jet 3 incorporates the proven HALM paper and envelope feeder, which thousands are in operation worldwide, and is critical to W+D’s high-speed nonstop output performance. Proven Xitron color management and workflow automation are seamlessly incorporated into the overall press controls for the fastest and easiest job setups.

Lower-priced water-resistant pigmented inks, longer-life Durabolt print heads and more workflow automation features on the W+D i-Jet 3 now give printers a new lower total cost of operation and broader product range flexibility from this one press.

Andrew Schipke, Vice President of Marketing and Strategic Sales for W+D states As we move forward with further inkjet adoption in the mailing industry, the strongest well-positioned printers will be the ones doing more with less press hardware, people, and total infrastructure. The winners will have high net output capabilities, exceptional print quality, ease of use as well as the lowest total cost of operation. Maximizing production efficiencies is what W+D is all about as we are best known for our high-performance envelope, mailing and e-commerce solutions. The new W+D i-Jet 3 now incorporates a host of new features that will allow printers to complete more profitably with inkjet in both short runs of 100 to now longer runs of 500,000+ units as inkjet adoption rapidly increases”.
