ATLANTA, Ga, March 23, 2016—DATAMATX, a national outsourcing provider and leader in the distribution of critical business communications and payment services, today announced that it has once again successfully complied with SSAE 16 Type II (Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No. 16) the company works to achieve annually, this time moving from a SOC 1 to a SOC 2 certification. To meet the growing needs of the ever-expanding technology companies who are classified as a service organization, the AICPA put forth the SOC 2 framework, a reporting option specifically designed for entities such as data centers, I.T. managed services, software as a service (SaaS) vendors, and many other technology and cloud-computing based businesses.

Within the SOC 2 framework is a comprehensive set of criteria known as the Trust Services Principles (TSP) that are composed of the following five (5) sections:

· The security of a service organization's system.

· The availability of a service organization's system.

· The processing integrity of a service organization's system.

· The confidentiality of the information that the service organization's system processes or maintains for user entities.

· The privacy of personal information that the service organization collects, uses, retains, discloses, and disposes of for user entities.

Gaining this certification required DATAMATX to be reviewed by accredited audit, risk and control-oriented professionals under guidance from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). This independent validation by an AICPA-certified entity underlies the commitment DATAMATX has to ensure and prove its sensitive customer data is handled with the utmost care.

“Successfully completing the stringent SOC 2 Type 2 audit requirements demonstrates our ongoing commitment to security and underscores the investment we’ve made throughout the organization to keep our customers’ data and systems safe,” said Scott Stephens, DATAMATX COO. “Our customers can feel confident that we are making every investment to establish and maintain the highest level of security and compliance.”
